School of Social Work

Dear LSU School of Social Work Alumni, Donors, and Friends,

Our alumni, donors, and friends play an important role in the School’s progress and continued success.  Your investments in the School and the future of social work in Louisiana are making a difference.  The School was ranked 71st out of 177 social work master’s programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report, up from our previous ranking of 79.  While we are excited about the forward progress, we are committed to move up in the ranks.

The past two years have brought many changes to the School – all moving us forward in our goal to lead, transform, and empower.

Your involvement in the School has led to many positive changes – your continued involvement is necessary to help keep us on this track.  There are so many ways you can stay involved with the School – from volunteering to serve on the Alumni Association Board to investing in our students and faculty.

Our goal is to provide more scholarships, endow faculty professorships, improve and expand distance education and other outreach and research projects, and to embark on new service projects.  To effect this positive change are attempting to raise $1,000,000 by 2010.  Although this is a huge challenge, it is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to be a part of a permanent change in the program.

Please take the time to look over the many ways to invest in our School on this website.  If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to call me at (225) 578-1106 or e-mail me at vking@lsu.edu.

Sincerely,
Vickie King
Director of Development
